Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
American actor Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
