Iran is willing to reinitiate atomic negotiations with the United States as long as it is handled with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat stated exclusively dialogue worked, and shared new appeals had originated from mediators to reopen talks with the Trump administration. He said Iran had zero undeclared nuclear sites, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit attacked atomic facilities for protective measures.

Walking a Difficult Route

The foreign minister is walking a challenging course since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be acting from a position of vulnerability, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen more resilient defensively and mentally from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was speaking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to refine atomic fuel domestically that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Earlier Talks Abruptly Terminated

The prior phases of talks between the US and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, struck Iranian nuclear sites in a two-week conflict that ended with the American leader claiming the sites had been eliminated. Subsequently, Western states employed their privilege to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Proposed

Iran's diplomats claimed they felt they had achieved a "magic solution" to the uranium processing matter in previous talks, when it was agreed an local partnership with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to declare success since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been settled in the talks that Washington's technical specialists could operate inside Iran, but that was a reasonable assumption of the consortium proposal. In what is described by Tehran representatives as the struggle of recovery and reconstruction, Araghchi stated he was certain Iran's defence capabilities "are much stronger than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been restored. We acquired numerous insights from this conflict; we have identified our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the opponent."

He stated: "We effectively endured this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they aimed to destroy, continues to exist. The installations and equipment, if damaged, will be restored; what is important is the will of the citizens of Tehran and then the national cohesion that they targeted, but did not succeed to destroy. The citizens of Tehran have grown stronger, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the government and the nation in the face of this invasion."
