The Streaming Giant Selects Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed recently that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Mr. 2. This character has the ability to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a version of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.
The new cast member is joined by a number of new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to life, including head Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Although this character is a major member of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the part. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
