Ways these Broncos and the malleable QB can halt the Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes live text of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available on select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , after last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.
But it was positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.
Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing extra defenders instead they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.
Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year well and did a good job of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?
Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big and new RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos are a team aiming to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable situations.
This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.
His strengths include his movement, being able to pass on the run, and finding different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.
If you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.
Payton owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps shape him into who he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.
Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.
They're really good at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win a game.
Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.
It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
